About Ben

Ben Muir is a musician based out of Reading, Pennsylvania. He primarily plays the alto saxophone and focuses heavily on the study of jazz. Ben also plays the piano and other ranges of saxophones, as well as writes original music. He has earned the opportunity to perform in numerous bands and music groups such as the District 10 Jazz Band, Hesse's Hot 5, Berks County All-Star Jazz Band, Ringgold Band, Region 5 Concert Band, Albright College Jazz Band, and the Temple University Lab Band. He has performed at multiple venues and locales which include the Goggleworks, Building 24, the DoubleTree Hotel of Reading, Penn Square in Reading, WCR Center for the Arts, the Scottish Rite Cathedral, the Crowne Plaza, and many more. He has also earned opportunities to play with renowned jazz musicians including Randy Brecker, Scott Wendholt, and Larry McKenna.

 

In July of 2017, he recorded his first album as The Ben Muir Quartet. Recordings can be found under the 'Music' tab. Contact personally for a physical copy of the CD.

 

Ben currently studies Finance at Temple University. He continues to be active in jazz both on campus and in Philadelphia.
